Pernix Supply Co. Magnesium Survival Fire Starter Review
I'm always looking for an opportunity to collect the essentials I need for my bug out bag. What's a bug out bag? A bug-out bag is a portable kit that normally contains the items one would require to survive for seventy-two hours, when evacuating from a disaster, however some kits are designed to last longer periods of time than just 72 hours. I just acquired this super awesome High Sierra Aggro
Backpack and looking forward to filling it up with necessities. I'm sort of trying to prep right now although a lot of my stock might be moved soon once I find a permanent house out more in the country which is a different story for another day.
Anyway, let's talk about more of what a magnesium fire starter is. What you do is scrape shavings off the magnesium fire starter, and then ignite them with a match, lighter or sparks. It's pretty simple and an effective way to start a fire which is really important to many situations. As you can see it's really small and can fit into your bug out bag with no problem. I keep my Fire starter right in the front zipper for easy access. Make sure to keep it in its little baggy it comes in because the magnesium is dirty and will smudge off on everything.
It's always good to remember that this can be used for any situation and not only for prepping. You can use this in any weather condition pretty much. The Magnesium Survival Fire Starter can be used for lighting camp fires, stoves, gas-barbecues, and much more. This Fire Starter lasts for approximately 12,000 strikes. I think everyone should have one of these items handy. Fire is really important to have in case of an emergency. #pernixsupply
